Before you book

Venue rules & terms

Everything you should know before the event, in plain words. So there are no surprises on the day.

🚭

Smoking

Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the halls.

The venue's fire alarm and safety system is taken with maximum seriousness. If a fire alarm goes off, we are obliged to follow the applicable safety procedures, which can mean pausing the event until the situation is checked and it is safe to continue.

For guests who smoke there is a terrace with 40 places and space outside the venue.

🅿️

Parking

The venue has 8 parking spaces. Availability is arranged in advance, when you book.

Access routes and the areas that must stay clear for emergency services cannot be used for parking, whatever the number of guests.

🚒

Emergency access

Emergency exits and access routes stay clear at all times — no décor, tables, equipment or cars in front of them.

🕐

👥

Maximum capacity

Sala Gold — up to 160 guests. Sala Silver — 40 to 70 guests. The maximum capacity of the hall is respected as a safety condition, not as a preference.

👧

Supervision of children

Children must be supervised at all times by their parents, guardians or the adults responsible for them, for the whole duration of the event.

The Selma House does not take responsibility for children who are not properly supervised.

⚖️

If the rules are broken

Once the client has read and accepted the Terms and Conditions, any breach of the rules and of the regulations of The Selma House may lead to corresponding measures, including ending the event, applying any costs or compensation provided for in the Terms and Conditions and, where applicable, notifying the competent authorities, in accordance with the applicable law.

This provision is part of the Terms and Conditions accepted at booking.

🛡️

Responsibility for damage

Under the booking contract, the client or event organiser is responsible for any damage caused to the venue, the furniture, the equipment or other property of The Selma House by them, their guests or the suppliers they hire, to the extent set out in the contract.

The rules of the venue must be respected: smoking, fire safety, access and emergency exits, parking, guest behaviour, damage to furniture or equipment, use of décor and equipment brought in from outside, maximum hall capacity, the schedule and finishing time, access for external suppliers, cleaning and any additional costs where the situation goes beyond normal use of the venue.

📄

Booking terms

The booking fee reserves the date. The balance is paid in full by the date of the event. A service charge of 10% of the final bill applies to parties. Card payment is accepted.

The amounts are confirmed in writing before you pay anything.

Before sending a booking request you tick a box confirming you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. The confirmation is recorded together with the request.

This page summarises the venue rules for guests. The full terms and conditions are those in the booking contract signed with The Selma House Group Ltd; where the two differ, the contract applies. The final wording of the terms is being checked against the contract and the applicable legal requirements.
